Teaching Practice Phase 2 ( Week 1 & 2 )

I chose P.P.M.H.S Karakonam for my Phase Two teaching practice. The first week as teacher trainees went well overall. We began with an orientation class on the school's general operations. Our main responsibilities included teaching classes 8 to 9. There were three teacher trainees, including myself. My supervising teacher, Mrs. Rajalekshmi, assigned me tp 2 divisions- 8G and 8A. I opted to teach 8th grade  this time since I had taught 9th  grade during the previous phase. Due to the limited number of trainees, we will share responsibility  among the three of us. On the second day, I started teaching the prose 'The Boy Who Drew Cats' after getting acquainted with the students. My duties also included morning tasks to maintain discipline during drop-off time and overseeing discipline during all intervals. Cognitive Map

       A cognitive map is a mental or visual representation of information, concepts, or knowledge that helps individuals organize, understand, and remember  material. It serves as a tool to structure and visualize relationships between different pieces of information, aiding in comprehension and recall. As part of B.Ed. curriculum, I prepared 2 cognitive maps, one unit from Plus One Kerala English Reader, and one unit from Plus Two English Reader .. I have also made reports of the cognitive map. and a virtual cognitive map.

Hybrid worshop - English

  The Department of English at PTM College of Education, Trivandrum, along with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a workshop titled "Creative Classroom: English Teaching Aids" on May 24, 2024. This event, part of the College-based Practical Activities (CPA) Phase 3 initiative, aimed to enhance the teaching skills of aspiring educators using innovative teaching aids. Through this project, we aimed to facilitate a deeper understanding of these often-confusing expressions, making language more accessible and enjoyable for learners. The guide covered a range of idioms, from common phrases like " To bite the bullet '. The illustrations added a playful touch, making the guide an entertaining and educational resource for language learners and enthusiasts alike. Overall, "Idiom Illustrated" achieved its goal of creatively clarifying the complexities of everyday expressions, providing a valuable tool for effective communication.
